Ear Infection

Last Thursday, the daycare called to let me know Will was running a fever.  Clay and I both had work obligations that day so my mom went and picked him up and headed for the doctor's office.  His fever had spiked to over 103 when mom got him, so we wanted to get him checked out.  We were told he had an ear infection in his right ear.  I am glad it was just that and nothing more serious (my dad had swine flu, so we were grateful it was just an ear infection.)

This is Will's first ear infection, so we were given the standard amoxicillin for an antibotic.  He started taking that on Thursday night.  On Saturday morning, I went to change his diaper and found a BRIGHT red rash all over his stomach and back and it was creeping up his neck and onto his face (he also had some other symptoms/issues, but I won't put that on the blog). I had a panic attack.  I just knew he was having an allergic reaction to the medicine.  I called my mom quickly and told her what it looked like and she said she was pretty sure he was allergic. She said that is how they found out I was allergic to Penicillin medications.

I stopped giving him the medicine, and we went back to the doctor Monday afternoon and confirmed that he is allergic to Penicillin.  He got an alternative antibotic to take for the ear infection.  He was pitiful on Saturday, but has been back to his normal self yesterday and today.

I am glad we found out now, and that he is okay.

The Pumpkin Patch

Sunday afternoon turned out to be such a great afternoon, so we took Will to the Pumpkin Patch in Harpersville.  We have never been before, but decided since we have a child now, it would be a good time to go.

We had a great time. Will is still a little young to enjoy the animals and corn maze, but he did enjoy watching all the kids play.  It was muddy because of all the rain we have had in our area.  The hay ride was not my favorite, but everyone else seemed to have fun.  We got some great pumpkins and I can't wait to carve them.

Here are pictures from our visit:

We had to wake him up when we got him out of the car, so he was a little sleepy at first.

Sweet boy!

Will's Second Tooth

Monday when we picked Will up from daycare, we confirmed with his teacher, that he does in fact have a second tooth on the bottom.

YAY!

Will's First Tooth

After what seems like months and months of teething, Will has his first tooth.

We discovered it on Saturday morning.  I have only seen a small glimpse of the tooth because Will won't let us look in his mouth, but I have felt it on several occasions.

I think that he has another one coming right behind it.

I am just so glad we finally have something to show for all the chewing and drooling he has done.

I am so excited!!!

The Weekend is Almost HERE!!

In a few hours, I will get off work and the weekend will officially start. I am so ready.

We are planning a low key night tonight. It will include some Hamburger Helper, laundry, and catching up on our TV shows.

Saturday, we are going to Clay's parent’s house to hang out and watch the Auburn/Arkansas game. GO TIGERS!

Sunday, we have no plans except for going to church. Mom mentioned taking Will to the pumpkin patch, so we may do that.

All in all, it will be a nice relaxing weekend.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend! :)

Playing

Will has started getting more mobile, so that has presented new challenges for us.  We enjoyed it when we could put him in the floor and know he would still be there if we stepped away for a minute. Those days are gone. He is trying so hard to crawl and rolls all over the place.

Saturday night, we went over at my mom and dad's house to watch the Auburn-Tennesse game.  We wanted to eat but Will would not be still, so mom found a way to keep him contained and happy.  She put him in the cradle they have and he looked like he was in a little boat.

He had a great time playing with Lilo and watching everyone.

Clay sat next to the cradle so he wouldn't tip it over.

He sat in there for 30 minutes.  It was a great source of entertainment while we ate.

Moody Homecoming Parade

Friday, October 2nd, was Moody High School's Homecoming.  Clay and I took the day off to spend as a family. Since, Will had never been to a parade before, we decided to take him to the homecoming parade that afternoon.

Will and Ashley waiting for the parade to start.

I don't think he really understood what was going on, but he seemed to enjoy himself.

Watching the parade.

"Is it over already?"

That night Clay and I went to the homecoming game, and Will stayed with Aunt Toot (Mary Kay).  Clay loves any type of football and I enjoy people watching. We saw a couple of old friends.  It was a nice night.

7 months old

7 months old

Will is 7 months old! Can you believe it?!?  This boy is growing up so fast. Clay and I are enjoying every minute we get to spend with him and he is such a fun little guy to be around.

Here is what Will is up to:

-He sits unassisted
-While on his tummy, he will turn around and pull himself across the floor
-He is trying to master crawling, he will be mobile very soon!
-He smiles all the time and loves to have his picture made
-He loves to play in the floor
-He recognizes family members and friends
-He has started having a little seperation anxiety when Clay or I leave the room
-He is eating baby food at lunch and dinner
-He is wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothing

I can't wait to see what the next month brings!!!
