Doctor's Visits

Last Thursday, Will's daycare called and said I needed to come get him because he had pink eye.  We headed to the doctor's office to get him checked out.  The doctor said he didn't have pink eye and that it was probably allergies that were making him so snotty.  So we got a doctor's excuse and we were on our way.

Sunday night, Will was running a little bit of a fever but he didn't seem to bothered by it so we gave him some Tylenol and put him to bed.  That night he was up a couple of times crying.  Monday morning when I went to get him, his fever was little higher so I called and got him another doctor's appointment.  All morning he acted kind of cranky and clingy.  When we got to the doctor's office, you would have thought I took him to Disney World. He was laughing, talking, and playing.  He threw the biggest fit because I wouldn't let him go in the bathroom or play with the water fountain.  We finally got called back and Will had the best time playing and laughing. I asked him if he could at least act sick so that I didn't look like the crazy mom who takes her kid to the doctor every time he coughs.

We saw Dr. R and Will was diagnosed with a double ear infection.  I figured that was what it was.  So we got an antibiotic and we were on our way.  I stayed home Monday and Tuesday with Will so that he could hopefully get better before I sent him back to germ land, AKA daycare. He seems fine now, so we are going to finish out the antibiotic and pray that he stays well.

It seems every time we have to see Dr. R for a "sick" visit, we always end up going at least 2 times in a week.  I am so grateful that Will has only been really sick a handful of times.  And this is only his 2nd ear infection, so we really are lucky.  We will be heading back to the doctor's office on June 7th for his 15-month well visit.

Here are some pictures of Will playing with Dr. R's stool.  He thought it was fun to roll it all over the room. It is a requirement that we touch every germy thing in office while we are there!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We are spending 4 days at the lake! Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

Beach Trip 2010 - Part 2 - Panama City Beach, FL

On Thursday of last week, we left Gulf Shores and headed to Panama City Beach to spend the rest of the week with Clay's parents.

They rented  a cute house that was two blocks from the neighborhoods private beach. The house also had its own pool which was great!

We spent our time at Panama City Beach hanging out on the beach and at the pool with Pawpaw and CC.  We ate at some great restaurants and one night Dan cooked us some great steaks!

While there, Will really warmed up to the beach and could have stayed out there all day.  He enjoyed playing with his toys in the sand and he even went to the edge of the water.  One time he headed straight for the water by himself and I had to run to catch up with him.  I guess he got over being scared!

Pawpaw helped him feed the birds and they even found a ball at the beach. He loved that!  There were also helicopter tours that flew over every few minutes and Will enjoyed watching them.

We had a great time and are so thankful that Dan and Celia invited us to join them on there vacation!

Will goes to Build-A-Bear

On our shopping day at Gulf Shores, we decided to let Will make his first Build-A-Bear.  Will loves stuffed animals so we knew he would love this place and he did!

Reading his bear's birth certificate.

Will picked his bear and helped stuff him.  He had a wonderful time running around the store and playing with all the stuffed animals and their accessories. Since Will couldn't pick the bears name, we named him Bear.

Bear wearing his beach t-shirt.

I was a fun experience for all of us and we will do it again in the future.

Giving Bear a big hug!

Mother's Day 2010

I had a wonderful Mother's Day and got to spend the day with my mom and Will at the beach.  It was the best.

I am so thankful that God entrusted me to be Will's mom and I am so thankful that God gave me my mom!

For my gift, Clay let me sleep in. That is the best gift ever for a mom with a 1-year-old.  Then that night we celebrated by eating at Doc's, my mom's favorite place to eat!

I was a great day!

Funniest Picture from our Beach Trip

The condo at Gulf Shores had a glass table in the dining area.  One morning Will threw all his Fruit Loops in the floor and I guess I missed a couple when I picked them up.  So he found some that were beneath the center portion of the table and went after them. Once he got under there he stood up and then realized he was trapped. It was hilarious!

Beach Trip 2010 - Part 1 - Gulf Shores, AL

We started our vacation on Friday, May 7th, and headed down to Gulf Shores.  We spent the first half of our week there with my parents and John.  We stayed in a wonderful condo and had a great time!

Will wasn't to thrilled about the ocean or the sand while we were at Gulf Shores.  He spent most of the time on the beach in the sun tent we had.  He would play with his sand toys in there but he mostly just ate goldfish.

He would try to feed the birds his snack.  He loved the birds!  He would point and smile.  It was really cute.

The first day we were there he would scream anytime we set him in the sand.  We took him to the edge of the water and he got knocked down, so he was done with the ocean!

He did enjoy the pool.  He liked Clay carrying him in the water.  I think he like running around the pool more, but that made me a total mess. He would walk/run right next to the edge or run up to the edge and stop quickly. I had a few panic attacks when he did that.

He also really enjoyed the condo. At home we usually keep him confined to whatever room we are in, but at the condo he had free rein of the entire place. He ran all over that condo.  He also loved the balcony. He spent many hours out there.  He did throw a soft baseball over the edge and we think some food, so we had to keep a close eye on him.

Will wasn't thrilled about eating out.  He was always really tired by the end of the day (and he was teething!) so when we ate out, we had to make it quick. We had some great meals!

It was a great trip and it was fun getting to spend time with my parents and John. Will was the center of attention, so he thought that was fantastic!

Will's First Chick-Fil-A Kid's Meal

Before we left on vacation, Will hit another milestone...he got his very first Chick-Fil-A Kid's Meal!

We love Chick-Fil-A at our house and we think Will likes it too.  He ate some chicken and fries and drank most of his water from the straw.  It was a little unsure about it at first, but liked the idea of getting to feed himself.  He also is enjoying the Veggie Tales CD that he got as his prize!

Back from Vacation!

We are back in the real world today. We spent the last 8 days on the Gulf Coast soaking up some sun.  The trip was wonderful and I can't wait to share all our pictures!  It will probably take me a while to get all the posts up.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

We're Here!

We are all alive and well. We haven't really been up to much, just hanging around the house, working, and spending time with family and friends.

We are headed out on a little vacation today, so I won't be updating until we get back. We hope to have a fun spending time with each of our families and hope the oil spill won't ruin our little adventure.

I hope everyone has a great Mother's Day! I will be celebrating with my baby boy and my mom!
