Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is here!! I love Thanksgiving because it is that holiday that makes you stop and really think about all that you have to be thankful for. I wish I didn't need a holiday to remind me, but like most people sometimes I get caught up in life and forget to thank God for all that He has blessed me with. This past year has been absolutely amazing and I have some much to be thankful for.

I continue to be thankful for my wonderful husband. He puts up with all my "crazy" and loves me. We have had our share of ups and downs, and we are still going strong. I wouldn't want to do this life with anyone but him. And, he is a pretty awesome daddy!

My biggest blessing this year was Will. Who knew that a 6 pound, 3 ounces bundle of love could completely rock my world? I thank God everyday for allowing me the opportunity to be his mother!

I am so thankful for my parents, brother, and extended family. They have been so gracious this year with their love and time. They have been absolutely amazing by helping me and their dedication to Will. I don't know what I would do without their support.

Also, I am thankful for Clay's family. They treat me as one of their own, and they love my little boy. I couldn't ask for better in-law's.

I am thankful for my job. It has provided for our family this year. In a time where many people do not have work, I am grateful for the stability that my job offers. We have walked through a time of uncertainty with Clay's job in years past, and I am glad that we currently do not have to worry about those situations.

I am so thankful for my friends who love and encourage me.

I am grateful to have a wonderful church family. They have loved my family and supported on this jouney to become a family of three. I am glad that we get to work with our youth group and get the opportunity to be a part of their lives.

Of course, there is so much more that I am thankful for, and I could write forever. This year has been crazy and wonderful. It has opened my eyes to how great my life is and how lucky I am to be living it. I want to be intentional about being thankful to the One who has blessed me.

"Be joyful always; Pray continually; Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

An Update!

  • Will is for-real crawling, and he is fast.
  • He pulls up on everything and is starting to let go. He wants to walk so badly, but I tried telling him he couldn't...he doesn't listen to me.
  • His daycare teacher and Sunday School teacher said it looks like he is about to get some top teeth. He won't let me look in his mouth so I cannot confirm that.
  • My mom took us shopping on Saturday.  Will racked up! We are so grateful he has such wonderful grandparents.
  • Clay and I bought Will a few Christmas presents. We are trying to keep it low-key this year and focus on our family and starting traditions with our boy!
  • THANKSGIVING is next week!!! I can't wait. It is my favorite holiday.  I love just sitting around with family and eating and talking.
  • Will broke our laptop at home.  He pushed it off the table and the screen is cracked.  I knew it would happen eventually. So we are computer-less at home until we can get it fixed, and since Christmas is right around the corner, I don't know when that will be.
That is really all that is going on with us. I will post some pics tomorrow if I can remember to bring my camera to work.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!

Auburn Homecoming

Samford Hall

Since the weather was so nice Saturday, we decided it would be a nice day to take Will to Auburn for the game.  Grandmother and John went with us, and we had a good time.  We didn't set up at our tailgate spot since the game was at 12:30.  We decided to park downtown so we could walk around and take some pictures before the game.  Will looked so cute in his Auburn windsuit!

Here we are in front of Samford Hall and the Auburn University sign!

Our Future Freshman with the Auburn Grads!

We didn't take many pictures inside the Stadium because it was so bright, but here are two of my favorites.

Chewing on his shaker before the game started.

He couldn't have a hot dog, so he settled for a bottle. Don't you love his little name labels? Very appropriate.

The Weekend is Here!

In 30 minutes, our weekend will offically start.  We have a lot going on this weekend and I am so excited.

Tonight, we are going out to eat for Kristen's birthday at Jackson's in Homewood.

Saturday, we are headed to Auburn with Will. It is homecoming, so it should be a nice low key day.  I want to take Will around downtown and get his picture made in front of Samford Hall! (We didn't get to see much when I took him to the Miss St. game because the weather was a little blah.)

Sunday, we have church and hopefully we can all get a nice nap.

It has been a crazy week and I am glad it is over.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

8 months old

Will and Tiger-8 months old

Will is 8 months old today!  He is growing up so fast. I wish I could stop time right now.  He is at a very fun age and we are loving every minute.

Here is what he is up to these days:
-Sitting unassisted
-Pulls up to standing
-Army crawls EVERYWHERE...he is very mobile now!
-Saying dada and mama (starting saying mama two days ago)
-Has two botton teeth
-Loves watching little kids run around and play
-Eats stage 2 foods and some stage 3. Also, eating puffs.
-Wears 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
-Weighs 19 pounds, 2 ounces (at doctor's office on Oct. 30th, 75th percentile)

To see Will and Tiger month-by-month, go HERE.

After we took his picture with Tiger, Will was sitting in his bed waiting for a bottle and this is what he did.

-

He pulled himself up from sitting! I guess we are going to have to lower the bed SOON!

Halloween 2009

I have been trying to write this post for a while, but we have been busy this week! I will warn you ahead of time: this is going to be long and have lots of pictures.

HARVEST OF FRIENDS
We attended and participated in Harvest of Friends at our church on October 25th. Our Sunday School class was in charge of one game that Clay and the kids took care of while I was with Will.  After a couple of hours of games and food, we headed outside for Trunk-or-Treat.

Will was not feeling his best this night because he started to break out in what we are calling the "polka dot" rash from the second medication he was given for his ear infection.

It's Charlie Brown!

This is the best picture we could get of Will and Gavin.  They weren't to happy about the costumes.

PUMPKIN CARVING!

On the 28th, we carved a pumpkin and Will helped.  We decided to make a "W" in his pumpkin.

Checking it all out.

All finished!

TRICK-OR-TREAT

On the 30th, we took Will trick-or-treating to my parent's house, my grandparent's house, and Clay's parents house.  Richard and Julie were here for the weekend, so they tagged along. Again, Will was not feeling good this day because he had some type of virus.  He was a good sport and we had fun visiting with our little man!

HALLOWEEN

On Halloween, we hung around the house that day while Clay went to the Auburn game.  That night we made chili and passed out candy. We had a ton of kids come to the house and it was great fun!

Hope everyone enjoyed all the pictures! Again, sorry it was so long, but I wanted to post about everything we did.
