What a Weekend!

We had a busy weekend!

Friday was the most low key moment of the weekend.  We cooked dinner and then headed to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things for the birthday.

Saturday we got up and Clay, John, and Richard headed to Atlanta for motorcycle race.  Julie and I hung out with Will at the house.  Kristen came over and we made all the favors for Will's party.  We had a few extra favors left over so Will got a slinky. He calls it a "tinky" and it is so cute. He also got some Mickey Mouse ears. Julie took a picture of him with the ears on and when he saw the picture he said "I Mickey Mouse!!"  Love him.

Will had to go down for nap a little early because I needed him to rest up for his 2-year-old pictures that afternoon.

After his nap, we headed to downtown Leeds to take his pictures. It was a beautiful day and I was so glad we got to be out and about.  Erin wanted us to meet her at the train depot, and Will was in love. There was a red caboose there and he told everyone that it was "Will's train". He got to see a real train up close when one came by and he was a little freaked out about it. He wanted me to hold him.  I thought he would love it but it was big and loud so I think it was overwhelming for him.

Will's Train

We walked around downtown and Erin took some great pictures. I can't wait to see them. Will was a totally ham and was all over the place. I was so happy that he was in a good  mood!

We went to Wal-Mart after we finished his pictures and Julie was such a big help to me.  It was nice to have someone to push the buggy and entertain Will.  I had to get a bunch of groceries for the week and stuff to make chili for our church's chili cook-off the next day.

Saturday night, we cooked a pizza and just hung out and waited for the boys to get home. I couldn't go to sleep so I stayed up until Clay got home at about 1 am.  We were both exhausted!

Sunday was a crazy day.  I got up early to make my chili and then we headed to church. We had a great service. Bro. Brad is doing a series on family and it is definitely what Clay and I need to hear right now.  After service was the chili cook-off, and guess what, I WON FOR THE BEST CHILI!!! Are you serious?  I laughed so hard when they called my name. I just made my chili to help out because it was fundraiser for our children's program, I never entered to actually win.  I got a little certificate so I am framing it and hanging in my kitchen. Winning a cooking award is something Clay never thought I could do. Thinking about it now still makes me crack up!!

Will before church wearing Clay's visor. He looked like a little golfer.

Sunday afternoon, we headed over to the outlet mall to meet up with Will's Pawpaw and CC so they could get him some clothes as his birthday present. We got so many cute things and I am so thankful for the new clothes.  THANKS PAWPAW AND CC!

On the way home from the outlet mall, Will fell asleep in the car.  He was so tired!  We went home and he got to sleep for an hour and then it was time to head back to church. Clay and I had a youth committee meeting before bible study.  After bible study we went to Wendy's with a bunch of people from church. There were like 25 of us there.  Our pastors daughter, Abby, entertained Will for most of the night. She is turning 9 the day after Will's birthday and she was so sweet with Will.

It was an exhausting day so we went home and crashed.  It was a good weekend and now it's Will's birthday week!!!  Can't wait for my baby's big day!

Mickey Mouse Brain

We have got Mickey Mouse on the brain at our house. We are gearing up for Will's 2nd birthday party and Mickey Mouse is the guest of honor!
Will's party is on March 5th.  I got the inviations in the mail last week and that started the ball rolling.  It is time for full-time birthday prep.  The next two weeks are going to be busy, busy.

This weekend Clay will be out of town on a boy's trip but I have reinforcements coming to help me with the birthday party prep.  Julie is coming to stay with me because Richard is going on the trip, and Kristen has already promised me she is coming over on Saturday.  I have a list of things that need to get done Saturday.  Most importantly the party favors for the kids and adults need to be put together.  Also, I am hoping my girls can help me think up some cute decorations.  I have mostly store bought stuff because it was just easier, but I hope we can make a couple of cute things too.

I need to get a list together of last minute birthday stuff I need to buy, so hopefully I can get that done this weekend too. I have all this stuff that came from all different places so I need to go through it and see what I have. It is all Mickey Mouse all the time and it is taking over our kitchen.

Also, Saturday afternoon we have Will's 2-year-old photos with Erin. I haven't picked a location because I am at a total loss of the look I want.  I have to go on Thursday or Friday night and get Will some new shoes before our session.  I would also like to get him some more clothing options.  We will see how that works out.

So after this weekend it will be my baby boy's birthday week and we have some fun stuff planned for him.  His birthday falls on Friday this year.  That afternoon,  I am going to take cupcakes or cookies up to his class to celebrate with his little school friends.  A room full of 2 year olds should provide some interesting entertainment.  Friday night, we are going to celebrate at home and have pizza and cake.  At first, I was just going to bypass doing something at home since his party is the next day, but I just can't skip it. His birthday is a big deal to me so it is more for me than Will.  When he is older he can decide.  Then Saturday is the big party.  I am sure we will be exhausted after it is all over, but it will be fun!

I plan on posting but if I am MIA come look for my amongst the Mickey Mouse party supplies!

Izzy, Haircut, and Sunday School

We had a nice family weekend.

Friday night, we went over to Jordan and Kristen's house and ate pizza.  Kristen had told Will that he could come over and play with their dog, Izzy, earlier in the week and he talked about it everyday until Friday.

Will had a blast throwing Izzy the ball and he even taste-tested one of her treats.  It was a simple night full of friends and laughs.

Saturday we hung around the house mostly. I went with mom to JcP and she got a new top and I got Will an outfit and a new sauce pot. Really exciting! HA!

After Will's nap, we took him to get a haircut. His hair was getting a little shaggy.  This is the first time he sat in the chair by himself.  He wasn't to thrilled with it but he did well enough for Mr. Larry to cut his hair.  For being a big boy, he got two suckers.  He was happy about that.

Will picked out his own outfit this day. Charlie Brown shirt, blue & orange plaid shorts, and navy blue crocs.  It didn't match at all but he loved it!

Saturday night, we cooked hamburgers at home and hung out just the 3 of us.

Sunday was Church!  Will loves church and ask everyone he comes in contact with to come to "my chuch".  It is really sweet.

When we got to his classroom he had to show my  the pig on the wall.

I made lunch for the family on Saturday night and mom cooked it Sunday. We had chicken manicotti, caesar salad, bread, and strawberry shortcake with my mom's homemade whipped cream! Yum!

Sunday night after bible study, we went to Milo's with some of our closest friends.  I laughed until I cried. It was a wonderful way to end the weekend!

Friday Photos

We haven't had much going on around our house, so I thought I would share some recent cell phone photos.

Having a sucker on Valentine's Day.

Trying on party hats at Party City

Cookie for dinner makes everything better.

We had nursery last week, and Clay always has to build something. HA!

The backpack is a turtle and it is from Guatemala. Aunt Toot got it for him and he loves wearing it around the house.

The other night while Clay was at the gym, Will wanted to sit in daddy's chair and cover up.  He made me sit on the couch by myself.  :(

Having some coke at the Mexican restaurant.

The Not-So-Newlywed Game

Last night, our youth group had a fun fundraiser!  They put together a Valentine's Banquet where they served a delicious dinner and had an entertaining game of "The Not-So-Newlywed" Game.

Will running the show!

My grandparents in the "photo booth".  Love them!

The dinner was so good. We started off with salad, then had a chicken and pasta dish with a roll.  Of course we finished up with a wonderful chocolate dessert.

After dinner was served, the entertainment began and Clay and I were asked to participate in "The Not-So-Newlywed" Game.  We have known for about a week that we would be one of the couples, and I was a little nervous. Clay tends to over share in most situations so I was a little afraid of what he might say in front of our church!!

Four couples participated and our friend Jack was the host. He was so funny and his outfit was outrageous!

Clay wanted to win so bad, but I think we came in 3rd.  It doesn't matter, it was a fun time and it supported our youth program.

SNOW!!

We got a little snow during the night. This morning when we showed Will he kept yelling "snow, snow!"

Once we were ready to head to work/daycare, we let Will go out of the porch to see the snow.  He thought it was great!

The Weekend

This past weekend, I didn't take a single picture. I don't know why, but I forget to get my camera out!  It is frustrating, so I am going to try and do better.

We had a nice weekend.  My cousin, Richard, and his wife, Julie, came and stayed with us for the weekend.  It was fun getting to hang out with them. They don't live too far away, but just far enough not to be able to see each other regularly.  Maybe one day soon, they will move closer--fingers crossed!

Friday night, my parents watched Will so that we could go out to eat.  We went to a Japanese steakhouse and it was really good!  We ate so much food.

Saturday, everyone indulged me and we all went shopping together.   We got a few more things done for Will's birthday, I got some makeup and books, and we ate lunch at the mall food court!  Saturday night, we hung around the house and John came over. I made hamburgers and we watched a movie. It was nice and relaxing!

Sunday was church day!  Richard and Julie went with us to Sunday School.  We had 22 people in our class, which is AMAZING!  We started this class only 4 weeks ago to reach out to the 20-35 year old age bracket and God has really showed up!  I am so thankful that our pastor has a passion for this age group.  Clay and I had nursery and we had a good time playing with the 4 & 5 year olds.  After morning service, my parents, my grandparents, John, Richard, and Julie all came back to the house to eat.  I made chili and cheese dip and mom made a cake.  It was a nice, simple meal! Soon everyone left, and Will and I took a much needed nap.  After our nap, we headed back to church.

Clay stayed home from night church to work on our bathroom because we had a water problem that needed to be fixed!  I am not a big fan of home repairs because it is so much work, but at least I will get to repaint my bathroom.  I have been dying to do that for a couple of months!  I am not sure what color yet but I want to paint our bedroom too, so hopefully Clay will be up for that!

It was a great weekend and I am glad that Richard and Julie got to come up.  The next few weekends will be filled with birthday prep, I hope I can pull it all together!!!

23 Months Old

In one month, we will have a 2-year-old!! Are you kidding?!?! I cannot believe how fast this last year has gone by. I know as we get closer to Will's birthday, I will be a hot mess.  I get so emotional about him growing up!

Will and Tiger - 23 months old

There is so much Will is doing now. It is absolutely amazing!

He talks all the time and other people actually understand him.  That is my gauge for how well he says things.  It always cracks me up when he says something Clay or I have never heard before, and we just look at each to try to figure out what he said.  One new thing he says is "tiger walk" (which is a tradition at Auburn and also a song, Will is talking about the song because we listen to it all the time). We were in the car when he said it and Clay and I were so confused. Neither of us could really figure it out and Will said it about 50 times before we got it right!  Most of the time Will just looks at us like "why is this so difficult for you two!"

He is also growing like a weed. He is around 28 pounds.  He wears a size 5 diaper, size 6 shoe, and 18 month to 2T clothes.

He is ALL BOY!  We play baseball, basketball, golf, and football.  He runs everywhere.  We say "No running" quite a bit around our house. He loves all things cars, tractors, and trains.  He is a big fan of screwdrivers and hammers. This is a product of spending so much time with his Pop.  Pop made him his own little box with screws in it that he can hammer or use the screwdriver. He constantly talks about things being "bwoke" and "I fix it".  There aren't many quiet or slow moments in our house anymore.

There is so much more and I could go on and on, but I will leave that for his 2-year-old post.  He is such a wonderful child and we love every single second we spend with him!
