Growing up

So Clay and I came to the realization today that our baby boy is growing up. I almost started crying at work.

The day he was born-March 4, 2009

Today-May 19, 2009

He looks like a little boy and not a baby. :(

Reality TV

The Biggest Loser.... I hate that Helen won. I did not like her the whole season and kept waiting for her to get kicked off. I thought it was really selfish that she sent her daughter home. I wanted Mike or Tara to win...oh well.

Dancing with the Stars...Ty Murray got kicked off. I know he is not the best dancer, but he was so sweet and tried so hard. I felt like he had the most heart.

Real Housewives of New York...Love them. Loved the first part of the reunion show. Can't wait until next season. Just for the record, Jill and Bethenney are my favorites!!

Real Housewives of New Jersey...LOVE the way the talk. Cracks me up. Looks like it is going to be a great season.

Jon and Kate plus 8...I don't really watch this show, but they are all over the news. It seems that their marriage is in trouble. I could have told you that. If you have ever just watched one episode of the show you would see that. I understand that they have 8 children, but their communication skills are terrible. When they speak to each other, they are always yelling, and Kate is always nagging. You have 8 children, some things you are going to have to let go!! If I was Jon, I would leave too. Just my opinion.

So, clearly I need a life that exists outside of Reality TV.

Doctor's Appointment--2 Month Checkup

Since last week was so busy with me returning to work, I forgot to post about Will's 2 month check up on Thursday.

He weighed 9 pounds and was 22 inches long. This took me and Clay by surprise. We were sure that he was in the 8 pound range. He is still in the 10th percentile, but the doctor says he is healthy and gaining weight at the proper pace. Everyone still comments on how small he is, but considering he was 6 pounds 3 ounces at birth, he has gained almost 3 pounds.

Also, he had to get 3 shots and an oral med. He did fine with the oral med and the Tylenol they gave him, but the shots were another story. They made him MAD!!! Clay had to hold him down because I couldn't do it. He only cried for a few minutes and then he was fine. Nurse Debbie is so good with him. She held him and talked to him after she gave him the shots, and that really calmed him down. Mom watched him the rest of the day, and she said he mostly just slept. I was thankful for that.

His next appointment is in 2 months, so we are praying he stays healthy until then!

Happy Mother's Day at the Lake

I spent my first Mother's Day at the lake with my new baby boy, husband, and family. It was a fun little trip for us. It was also Will's first time to the Lake House. I am a bad mom and forgot to take any pictures. All in all it was a great trip. I got to sleep alot so that made it an even better trip. The first week back at work was a killer.
For Mother's Day, Will (with Clay's help, Thanks babe!) got me a new Vera Bradley bag to carry this summer and a stylish ring. The ring design is very pretty and it even says "mom" on the side, but not in a cheesy way. I absolutely love it! Mom and Dad gave me a Bath and Body Works gift set. John got me the gift of laughter. Will and I spent part of the afternoon getting to watch John try and front or back flip into the water. Let's just say he needs some more practice, but it was quite hilarious!! Maybe I'll video it next time for everyone's viewing pleasure.
And since it is Mother's Day, I want to thank my mom for helping me so much these last few months. She is such a good grandmother and loves Will so much. I couldn't have made it without her. She has supported me through all the trials of being pregnant, a scary delivery, and a rough two months as a new mom. She has been there through all the crazy emotions and supported me when I thought I would lose my mind. She has willing and whole heartedly stepped into her new role as a grandmother. When I see her with Will, I know there is unconditionally love between them. I couldn't ask for a better Mom.

Mom, I love you!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOMS!!! I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT DAY!!!

MA the babysitter

MA and Lisa came to my rescue this week. They traveled all the way here to keep Will for a few days so I could go back to work. It was so great of them to help us out and I can't thank them enough.

Lisa took care of all the grown-up stuff like feedings and diaper changes.

MA took care of all the fun. She played with Will and helped him with his paci.

I am so thankful that I have a friend like Lisa!

THANK YOU LISA AND MA!!!

Two Months Old

My little boy is two months old today. I cannot believe it. I really didn't think I would make it past the first month, but here we are. He is the best little boy and I cannot remember what my life was like without him.

Here are a few things he is doing now:
-During tummy time, he will hold his head up and look at you
-He is trying so hard to suck on his hand/thumb
-He will lay in the floor and play
-He reaches out
-He can roll from his stomach to his back
-He recognizes Clay's voice
-He loves to sleep on Clay's chest
-He likes being outside when there is a warm breeze
-He is still wearing Newborn clothes, but it about to outgrow them

We take him to the doctor on Thursday for his two month check up. He has to get 4 shots, so I hope he does well. Last time at the doctor, he had to have his foot pricked and he slept through it.

Now for pictures:

The Biggest Loser and the end of maternity leave

So Clay and I watch the Biggest Loser religiously. Most nights we watch it while eating Carpenetti's pizza or ice cream, so I think we are missing the point. Thus led to our purchase of Jillian's 30 day Shred DVD. It claims that you can lose 20 pounds in a month...we shall see.

We are going to start tomorrow, so hopefully by the end of the month I will have lost the last few pounds of baby weight. Currently, I can fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes, it's just not very pretty.

Also, I am at the end of my maternity leave. I will be back at work on Monday and Will will be 2 months old. It has flown by and I am so sad to be leaving him. Next week Lisa, mom, and Clay are going to keep him, then I don't know what we are going to do because we still are on waiting list everywhere. We have found a couple of daycares that have immediate openings, but after visiting one of those on Friday, we will keep waiting on our first choices. I wouldn't send Winnie to some of these places.

If you don't here from me for a couple of days it will probably be because I will be exhausted. I will update when I can.

And because the only reason you read this, here is a picture of my sweet boy:
