I can see your face!

I always tell Will that “I can see your face!” or “Let me see your face?” He always comes to me and smiles so big.

Last week, we turned his carseat to forward facing so now when I am driving, I can see his little face. He loves being forward facing. He looks out the window and points to things, and he is a lot more vocal in the car now. It is so fun!

(PS...I know that turning your child to forward-facing in the car seat is a debatable issue. I researched it and discussed it with our pediatrician. We felt that it was okay to go ahead and turn him around now. He meets all the current requirements to be forward-facing.)

Will Brushes His Teeth

Will has had a toothbrush for a while. He used to allow me to help him. He is so independent; he wants to do everything himself. He still only has 6 teeth, but he loves to brush them.

Pictures from the weekend

Happy Boy.

Last weekend was nice and relaxing. We had nothing to do and no where to be. Clay worked out in the yard and I cleaned up inside and did the laundry. It was nice to get a couple of things off our to-do list.

Playing with the ball popper...and the hat Uncle John bought him!

Will had a great weekend too. He played inside and outside. Uncle John even came over for a bit and played with him. We also took him to Bass Pro Shop and Uncle John bought him a hat. He loved the fish tank at BPS and would squeal when he saw the fish.

Hugging the doggy. So sweet.

"Helping" me with the laundry.

We had a fun weekend just hanging around the house!

One night after eating supper.

Will has something to say...

I thought you all might enjoy some videos!

Things to note:
1. I don't how Will got a hold of the white wash cloth or how long he has had it, but he has been toting it around for a few days now.

2. He tends to be loud. Not sure where he gets that from...haha!

3. Clearly, he likes to be really close to the camera.

4. At the end of the 2nd video he starts coughing. Clay and I have lovingly termed that cough "The Daycare Cough". He is not sick and there is no real cure, he has just had that cough since winter began. We call it "The Daycare Cough" because we assume he picked it up there. People look at us weird when they ask if he is sick and we respond with "No, it's just The Daycare Cough."

Richard and Julie's Wedding!

Last Saturday, Richard and Julie got MARRIED!

The wedding and reception were held at Southern House & Garden. The house and property were absolutely beautiful and it was the perfect site for the type of wedding Julie had planned.  It was simple and elegant!

Clay was a groomsman and I was a bridesmaid. It was nice not to have to worry about what to wear, plus Julie bought Will the cutest little outfit, so we didn't have to worry about his clothes either.

The wedding colors were green and purple, and Julie had the entire wedding decked out!  The bridesmaids wore green dresses and carried flowers in varying shades of purple.  The groomsmen wore black suits with deep purple ties.  There was tons of candy, all in shades of green and purple.  And they even had cups with their names and wedding date in green and purple.

Richard had a traditional chocolate groom's cake with strawberries.  Julie opted for something unique and had cupcakes.  There were different kinds, and everyone said they were delicious.  I only had chocolate cake because it is my favorite. It was yummy too!

Everything looked great, and Julie did a wonderful job planning everything! I think the day was a total success!

Julie-You were already a part of our lives in such a big way, now you are an offical family member!  Welcome to our family. We love you and can't wait to make many more memories with you!

Richard-You did a great job picking such a wonderful girl to marry! We love you!

I am going to include the pictures I had on my camera. I still need to get the pictures my mom took.

Julie made signs to mark the turns on the way to the wedding...so cute!

This was at the front door.

My cousin Richard - THE GROOM!

Richard and Julie with the preacher.  This is the best picture I had of  Julie on my camera.  I loved her dress.  I hope mom has one with her shoes, because they were so so cute!

The flowers. The bride's is the all white daisies.

The bride and groom with their parents.

This is Julie's brother, Garrett, and her nephew, Noah, during picture time.  I just thought this was a really sweet picture of them.

Some of the groomsmen talking with Richard before the wedding started.

Will and Noah chatting about their matching outfits. LOVE!

The get-away car!

Richard and Julie headed to Disney World for their honeymoon.  I hope they are having a great time and getting some rest now that the wedding is behind them!

I have put to rest of pictures on my Picasa site, as well as, some pictures I had from the Rehersal dinner. You can go HERE to see them.

I'm Back!

Sorry I haven't updated in over a week.  We have been busy, busy!

Late Wednesday night, I came down with something. It was kind of like flu symptoms with a raging sinus infection. It was not fun. I had a fever, achy joints, and my head felt like it had so much pressure it was going to pop right off my body.  I had to get well quick becasue Richard and Julie had their wedding Saturday.  I rested and rested and pumped my body full of meds. By Friday I felt a little better and we traveled to Tuscaloosa for the wedding.  Clay and mom took Will for the afternoon so I could rest at the hotel.  I got up from a nap and felt so much better--just in time for the rehersal and all the wedding festivities (I will do a whole wedding post once I upload my pictures!).  I think I wore myself out because Sunday I felt horrible again.  Thankfully after a full days rest, I was ready to head back to work on Monday. I have been feeling better and better. That was the sickest I have been in a few years!

Clay and Will haven't had any signs of being sick so I am thankful for that!! However, my dad is sick now. We don't know if he got it from me or work. Hopefully he will feel better soon.

Like I said, full wedding post to come.  My boy looked so cute the day of the wedding, I can't wait to show you pictures.  The bride and groom looked great too!!! I know Richard and Julie won't mind me bragging on my boy a little, they love him too!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far. I will be back with more updates!

1-Year-Old Well Visit

Yesterday we took Will to his 1-year-old well visit.  He did really well and was so good for the nurse and Dr. Russell.
Will eating a snack while we waited on the doctor

He had to get 3 shots and his finger pricked.  He cried a little bit and was a little clingy afterwards. We expected that since we were getting close to his nap time.

Dr. Russell answered all our questions and said that Will was doing great!  It is always good to hear that Will is nice and healthy.  Dr. R also told us we could start Will on whole milk, so we will be starting the switch from formula today.

Here are his stats:
Weight: 21 pounds, 13 ounces (between 25th & 50th percentile)
Length: 28 3/4 inches (between 25th & 50th percentile)
Head circumference: 18 3/4 inches (75th percentile)

Will's 1st Birthday Party!

Saturday, March 6th, we had Will's 1st Birthday Party.  We had lots of family and friends come and celebrate with Will.  Here are some pictures from the day.

Invite for Will's Party.  I based the theme around this invitation-Alphabet Blocks!

This was at the entrace.  All of Will and Tiger's month-by-month pictures.

Since most of the guest were adults. The favors were gumballs.

The room when we finished decorating.  We also had a slide show with our favorite pictures of Will.

The centerpieces.  I made the blocks. Each table had a 'W', 'Y', and '1' with balloons.

Cake table.

Will's smash cake.

Cake!

Some of the food.

THE BIRTHDAY BOY!!!

Enjoying some cake.

Gifts.
We asked our guests to bring necessity items for the Alabama Baptist Children's Home in lieu of gifts for Will.  Our guests were so generous and I am so grateful!!!  We are going to deliver the items this week.

It was a great day and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. My friend Teri took pictures during the party so I will post those when I get them.  These are just a few that Clay and I were able to get during the chaos!!

Will is ONE!

We celebrated Will's brithday last night with our parents, John, and Ashley.  Everyone had a great time spending the night with Will.  We played, laughed, opened presents, and ate pizza and cake.

After we got done eating our pizza, we let Will open a couple of presents.  He loved all his gifts, especially his new Elmo!

Then he dug into some cake.  He kept bending over and licking it. He cracked us all up! He absolutely loved the cake and was wired after all that sugar.

After cake, Will took a bath and put his pajamas on.  He played the rest of the night and then hit the hay.

It was a great night and I loved that everyone was there to celebrate Will's 1st Birthday!

Now it's time to finish getting ready for his big party on Saturday!  I hope he has a great time.

If you want to see more pictures from Thursday night, you can go HERE.
