The Weekend

We had a great weekend!

Friday night, Will stayed with Mawmaw and Pop so that Clay and I could go out to celebrate Jordan and Drew's birthday.  We ate at Stix and then went to Jackson's for dessert. It was a much needed night out and we had a great time just eating and talking.

Saturday morning, we got up and headed for Roanoke.  It was Brett (Clay's cousin) and Krista's wedding day.  I love weddings and of course it is a wonderful reason to get the whole family together.  The wedding was gorgeous and Krista did a great job planning everything.  Also, it was Will's first wedding to go to and sit through the whole thing.  He went to see Kate and Gray the day of their wedding when he was a month old, but he didn't stay for the ceremony or reception. He was at Richard and Julie's wedding but mom took him out before the ceremony started. Brett and Krista's wedding was the first time he actually got to see someone get married!  I was a little worried at first because he is so talkative and a little loud.  He actually did really well.  He talked a little while the mothers were being seated but we gave him milk and a snack and that quieted him.  Half way through the ceremony, he fell asleep!

His favorite thing about the whole wedding was the bubbles. He thought it was great that we got to blow bubbles for the bride and groom.  It was a great wedding and a fun day with family.  Congrats to Brett and Krista!

Sunday, we went to church and then ate lunch at Wendy's.  Clay headed for the golf course and Will and I made our way over to mom and dad's house.  We played out in the yard for a bit and then went home for Will's nap.  I cut the front yard and did laundry while Will napped.  He slept for almost 3 hours!  He must have been exhausted.  Then we went back to church for service and then Clay and I attended a church leadership meeting.  We fell into bed about 11 last night and struggled getting up this morning.

Fun weekend with family and friends!  Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

And because Will always keeps us laughing, this is what he said to me in the car yesterday after lunch:

"You take me to Jackson's house. I eat Happy Birfday Jackson cake!"

I don't know where it gets this stuff from. Jackson's party was weeks ago.  I guess Jackson's birthday cake left a lasting impression!
