So it's Saturday morning and Will has finally gone down for a little nap. Thank the Lord! He needed it. We are headed out to lunch today to celebrate my cousin Brad's birthday, so the nap will help us make it through the meal.
We have already made a trip to Wal-Mart. It was just me and Will. Clay is on the golf course with John. We did pretty good just the two of us, and I only had to open one snack for Will even though he tried to pull everything he saw off the shelves. It wasn't crowded so that was nice. We also ran into Leslie buying a humidifier for Jackson. She was sporting the no-make-up look too. Welcome to Motherhood!!!!
We have had a good week over here at our house. Nothing to exciting, but we ended the week getting to hang out with some of our favorite people!
Thursday, Leslie, Ray, Jackson, and Queenie invited us over for dinner. We had burgers and they were so good!! We are so lucky to have good friends who enjoy cooking.
Will got to play with Queenie and I got to snuggle with Jackson. Clay and I got to have some grown up conversation, which is always a plus. It is nice to have another couple to hang out with that are in the same "stage" of life we are. They understand we can't go to restaurants because our kid acts like a nut in public and you don't have to explain why you have to leave at 8 because its their kid's bedtime too.
Friday night, Pop and Grandmother babysat Will for us and we got to go out to dinner with Kristen, Jordan, Craig, Ashley, and John. We sat outside at the restaurant and it was a bit muggy but when you have good food and great company the heat doesn't bother you so much!
After dinner we went and picked up Will. It was so funny because when Will sleeps at Pop and Grandmother's, he is always in a different place. Last night he was asleep on a blanket in the middle of the living room floor. That would never happen at our house. Pop and Grandmother can work the sleepy time magic!
An update on the no-cooking: I still haven't cooked anything. That is over 4 weeks now! Haha! We will see what this week brings.
Well, I am off to get ready for the birthday lunch. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday!

Will's Random Fashion Moments
Wednesday night, Will wore these PJs that my mom bought him. They are from Gap and I love them.
I love this little boy!
Thursday night, I guess Will wanted to change things up a bit and wear Clay's t-shirt. When Clay put it on him, it was dragging the ground so I tied it up in the back. Will wore it for over an hour. This picture cracks me up because he looks like he is posing.
Saturday at Lay Lake
On Saturday morning, we headed down to Lay Lake to spend the day with Pawpaw and CC. Will has never been to their lake house so I was glad they invited us down.
Their lot at the lake doesn't currently have a house on it, but they are making plans to build in the near future. Since there isn't a home there yet, they had sprinklers set up all over and Will thought that was fantastic. He normally doesn't like to get water in his face but he really enjoyed the sprinklers. I was really surprised. Of course, he managed to get all of us wet in the process.
Pawpaw and CC also had a little pool for him that had a slide. He loved it! He went up and down the slide probably no less that a thousand times. He would say "wee" when he went down. It was too cute.
We also swam a good bit. Will got in the lake on a float and had fun pushing daddy's head under water. He was laughing so hard!
We were all water logged by the end of the day.
We went on two boat rides. Pawpaw and CC have a pontoon boat and it is great for Will. Of course he kept trying to figure out how to open the little doors so he could escape.
On our first boat ride, we just drove around to some different areas of the lake. Will fell asleep for about 2 seconds then he was up going again.
On our second boat ride, we went to visit some of my family who are also friends of Dan and Celia's. My cousin Cathy and her husband Skip have a lake house just a few minute from Dan and Celia's lot. Will fell asleep as soon as the boat started moving. It was so funny, he was exhausted. We stayed and chatted with Cathy and Skip for a while, then headed back to eat some dinner.
After dinner, we headed back to our house. Will was completely exhausted. He didn't take a nap, so he was a little cranky. He fell asleep in the car before we got off their street. He slept all the way home and didn't even wake up when I got him out of the car!
I was a great day and we had lots of fun! I hope we are able to do it again soon.

A Trip to Roanoke
Sunday, we traveled to Roanoke for a baby shower for Clay's cousin. It was a fun day hanging out with Clay's family and Will loves being the center of attention.
Clay went and played golf with his cousin Brett while all the girls and Will went to the baby shower. Krista, the mom-to-be, is so sweet and she is really good with Will. Her shower was really nice and she got some great things. After the shower, we all helped her sort through her goodies and helped her make a list for things to pack for the hospital. Aunt Shaun, Misty, Krista, and I all sat around talking and catching up. It was fun!
Brett and Krista are having a little boy, so seeing all those little boy things made me miss when Will was little.
Hopefully, the baby will be making his appearence soon and we will get to head back down there to visit the new addition!
We missed getting to see Mawmaw. When we traveled through Wedowee, she was at church both times so we didn't get to visit with her.

Misty (in orange ) and Krista at the shower. Not the best picture but I was chasing Will the entire time.

Cooking Dinner is Over-rated
SO...
I have not cooked dinner in over 3 and half weeks. I know that is terrible and I really should be a better mother/wife, but I am just not feeling it. By the time we get home each night, I am exhausted and cooking is not my favorite thing to do.
Will is still refusing to eat anything other than baby food and this week he has been a little under the weather so he is hasn't been eating much anyway.
Clay and I always have something going on at night and we have been traveling the last couple of weekends.
Maybe I will get back in the swing of things, or maybe not. Of course, Clay could always take over the cooking duties!

Monday and Ashley turns 30
On Monday morning, I decided to take Will to the doctor. He had been hacking and coughing for a few days so I decided it was time to give Dr. R my $20. Will never ran a fever so I knew it wasn't anything to serious, but we needed something to clear up the snot so that we could all get a good nights sleep. Dr. R said it was just sinus drainage and a little summer cold, and he gave us some medicine that would help.
Of course, once we called and made the appointment, Will didn't act like he was sick! I was glad it wasn't to serious. We thought he might need another breathing treatment because he had been wheezing a little but we didn't...thank God! Clay stayed home too because if we had had to do the breathing treatment, I wouldn't have been able to do it alone. It was nice to have Clay home because with him there, I was able to work and I got so much done.
That night we planned a little get together because Ashley turned 30! We weren't able to celebrate on her actual birthday becasue she was out of town with the youth and children and we were out of town in Roanoke.
We went over to Robby and Robbin's and had hot dogs and cake.
The cake was so cute and I think everyone enjoyed it. Of course, it was from Edgars.
I am so glad we got to celebrate with Ashley. She is one of my best friends and is like family. She is so good to Will and we love her so much!
Will was originally supposed to be at the party, but of course he was running a little fever right before so mom came and got him. He probably would have been fine staying, but Leslie was bringing Jackson so I didn't want Will breathing on him. And plus I got some snuggle time with Jackson without Mr. Jealous being there!

Bouncy Seat and Bumbo
Will pulled his bouncy seat and bumbo out of his closet and decided that they needed to be played with.
Let's just say he is a little big for the bouncy seat.
He loves sitting in it. He makes it bounce and thinks that it is hilarious! He has sat in it every afternoon this week. He spent very little time in it when he was smaller, now it is like his own personal recliner.
He found a new use for the bumbo. It's a helmet. He wore it around on his head for at least 15 minutes. Cracks me up!
This child is into everything and out of control. Something new and different happens everyday. I am loving this age!

A Funny Video
This is a video of Will saying "cheese" and laughing. I love it! Enjoy!
And please ignore the mess in the background. This is our office/playroom and we let Will mess it up as much as he wants!
July 4, 2010
We spent the holiday weekend at our family lake house. We always have a great time playing, swimming, eating, and hanging out.
We had some GREAT food! My dad made ribs on Sunday that were fantastic!! He cooked them all day. That is dedication.
Will had a great time as usual. He was the center of attention so he was eating that up. My Aunt Ann and Uncle Marc love him so much and that makes me smile. I grew up being around all my cousins and aunts and uncles, and I am glad Will is getting a little taste of that. Right now he is the only grandchild for my parents and Clay's parents so I love that he gets to spend so much time with our extended families too!
Uncle Marc played with Will so much and even tried teaching him his colors. We had this float that had all these different color holes. Uncle Marc would put a goldfish in each color and then tell the color to Will and help him find the goldfish. It was so sweet.
We played on the water the entire weekend. It was a little hectic because it was so crowded but that didn't stop us. Will even got to actually ride the WaveRunner with Clay. I was a mess. He only took him right out in front of our pier but I was freaking out a little.
We swam and swam and swam. Will seemed a little more comfortable this time. He even tried to "jump" in a couple of times. I try to keep my freak out moments to a minimum because I don't want to scare Will but he definitely tested the limits of the pier this weekend!
We also had a goose visit. My cousin Cameron and I called it a "geese" about a hundred times, but clearly it was just one goose. I guess our brains weren't working. The goose came all the way up to our deck and little yard area. He was not scared of people. He even ate bread out of Cameron's hand. It was Will's first official nature experience with a "wild" animal.
We didn't go to the big fireworks on the lake but our neighbors spent enough money on their fireworks to have a good show. Will was already in bed so he missed them. Maybe next year he will be old enough to stay up and enjoy them.
It was a great 3 day weekend. I hope you all had a nice time celebrating with your families!

Will's mohawk! He had so much sunscreen in his hair that it stood straight up!

More about Guatemala
I wrote at the beginning of the year about how my church is doing some mission work in Guatemala. Currently there are plans being made to build a church on some property that our church helped purchase.
Tonight, we had a young women named Deborah Medina, come to the kid's program at church and speak about Guatemala. She talked about the food and culture. It was very light-hearted because the age range of the children were 3 - 10 years old. We had some fruits that are grown in Guatemala and got to taste them. The kids also got to learn all the names of the fruits in Spanish! Deborah did a great job with the children and I really think that they enjoyed it.
Of course, there was a God moment for me. She was talking to the children about how the people in Guatemala made money. She said that most grow things or make things with their hands that they can sell. They also work out in the fields. The thing that really struck me was she said on a GREAT day someone might make $15 for the day. I felt so ashamed. I want this next statement to come off the right way. I make way more in an HOUR than a Guatemalan makes in a DAY! I was totally convicted. I wanted to run out to the car, grab my checkbook, and give all I had to her to take back to her country. I know that God is providing for me and my family and I am so blessed. But He is also providing for the people for Guatemala and I know that I can help. I said in the previous post about Guatemala that I didn't feel like God was calling me to travel there with our church, and I am still not sure that He is now, but that may change. I would love to go and see the people there and walk a mile in their shoes. I will never be able to understand how hard they work for what they have or how they live, but I do know that Jesus came to save us all from our sins. So that makes us all very similar.
I hope to get the opportunity to help with the next Guatemala trip. I don't know what that will entail, but whether it is giving a little extra money we have or helping the mission team prepare, I am ready to do my part.
Please continue to pray for the people in Guatemala. Also please pray for the mission teams from our church and the 2 other churches involved that are going to build the church. I just hope that the people of Guatemala can see the love of Jesus through our mission team members!

Pawpaw Visits
Last night, Will's Pawpaw (Clay's dad) came over to our house after work for a little visit with Will. When Pawpaw first got there, Will was a little clingy to me because I think he thought I was leaving. It took about 10 minutes for him to figure out that we were all staying. He has done that a couple of times recently. I guess it is just separation anxiety. It always makes me feel bad for our guest but he usually gets over it.
Will and Pawpaw played and played. I don't know if Will had sugar at daycare or what, but he was bouncing off the walls and running around everywhere. He was cracking us all up!
Also, Will ate and ate and ate!!!! I feed him two vegetables and a fruit (baby food) before Pawpaw arrived, then we ordered pizza and he ate probably 4 full pieces of cheese bread. He also drank all of his milk and had half of a popsicle. His little stomach was poking out. We finally had to cute him off because I thought he was going to explode. Of course, I was happy that he ate something besides baby food, but I don't know that cheese bread is necessarily a good thing for him. :)
We had a great visit and Pawpaw even installed a thermostat for our air conditioner that has a timer. Clay and I can't really figure it out but hopefully it will help us on our power bill!
Will slept great so I guess he was worn out from all the fun he had with Pawpaw!

Vroom, Vroom!
Will is saying "Vroom, Vroom" all the time these days. Cars, motorcycles, golf carts...he loves them all. He is definitely all boy!
This is what got him saying "Vroom, Vroom":
UNCLE JOHN'S DIRT-BIKE!
Will loves it! He likes to watch Uncle John ride in our back yard. He will stand on the porch yelling "Go, Go, Go". Of course Uncle John wants to get Will his on motorcycle. That is still in the debate stage. I will let you all guess which side I am on. John and Clay definitely think it is a "good" idea.
